GOTR – Transit

TransitIcon_sq During the Gentlemen of the Road St. Augustine Stopover, the City of St. Augustine is working with several partners to make sure that all of our guests are able to get around town—from downtown, to the beaches and everywhere in between. To accomplish this, there will be several systems in place.

Stopover Venue - Francis Field

Satellite Parking & Shuttle System

Gentlemen of the Road Shuttle Wristbands on Sale Now!
Shuttle program offers unlimited shuttle transportation September 13 & 14 for local community and event-goers!

Downtown St. Augustine is going to be filled with Gentlemen of the Road Stopover goers from near and far, so parking downtown is NOT the way to go on the weekend of September 13 and 14. By purchasing a shuttle wristband, you will be able to travel with ease from either your accommodation or the park-and-ride lot at the Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine to Francis Field, the Beaches, and other locations in and around the city.

Wristbands for the shuttle program are available at a specially discounted price of $22.50 through September 4. Beginning September 5 wristbands will be $30. Each shuttle wristband includes unlimited rides on all shuttle routes and two days free parking at the Northeast Florida Regional Airport. Wristbands are valid for both Friday and Saturday; single-day wristbands are not available. Children five and younger ride free if accompanied by a ticketed parent or guardian. A Gentlemen of the Road St. Augustine Stopover event ticket is not required to purchase a shuttle wristband. Shuttle wristband does not gain you access to the GOTR event.

There is only one satellite parking facility. Parking will not be provided at other shuttle stops. Riders are encouraged to leave their cars in place and walk to the closest shuttle stop.

Shuttle Dates & Times
The shuttle will operate from 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14, until 3 a.m. the following morning, with continuous drop offs and pick ups at a maximum of 30-minute intervals at designated locations throughout the operating hours. Check with the shuttle route attendants at each site to determine when the next shuttle is set to arrive. The shuttle system will offer a safe return option for shuttle riders and the opportunity to enjoy all the area has to offer after the event ends at 11 p.m. Shuttle wristbands will be available for purchase at each shuttle stop from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday for $30 each.

Shuttle Perks
As an added benefit, the shuttle wristband grants the wearer access to Shuttle Perks, a vast array of discounts being offered by local retailers, restaurants and attractions. Check out the latest perks.

Not Staying Overnight?

Purchase a shuttle wristband and park for free at the Northeast Florida Regional Airport park-and-ride lot in St. Augustine.  Downtown St. Augustine is going to be filled with Gentlemen of the Road Stopover goers from near and far, so parking downtown is NOT the way to go on the weekend of September 13 and 14.  Plus, extensive road closures are planned, so, the “usual” parking spots will likely be unavailable.  By using the park-and-ride lot, riders will be able to travel with ease on the shuttle system to Francis Field, the Beaches, and other locations in and around the city, all without the hassle of fighting traffic and finding parking!

Lodging on Shuttle Routes

FAQ for Shuttle Users

Still have questions about the shuttle system? Check out these frequently asked questions.

Bicycle Valet

If you want to bike to the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover, all your where-am-I-going-to-lock-it worries are over thanks to Velo Fest and their free bike valet service. Ride your bike to the designated lot and your bike will be racked in a secure location at 31 Orange Street (adjacent to the event venue – Francis Field). For more information about biking to the event, click here.

Walk St. Augustine

The American Automobile Association named St. Augustine as one of the 10 most walkable cities in North America, and it’s no wonder. A small downtown whose streets were laid out in the 1590s, St. Augustine is a tightly compacted small community (13,000 population) whose town center is a mixture of residential, attractions, museums, restaurants and retail shops as well as historical monuments, churches and a college.

While some of St. Augustine downtown streets are pedestrian only, during the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover, these areas will be increased to include a 12 block area that will be designated pedestrian only from 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14 until 3 a.m. the following morning.

If you are staying in the downtown area, you will not need your car from the time you arrive until you depart. Most downtown accommodations are just a few minutes walk to the concert site, Francis Field, which is in the heart of downtown. And should you wish to leave the downtown area to explore the beaches or visit any attractions or restaurants outside the downtown, then take the shuttle.
